This is jazz!! Pure and simple! There are ballads for the occasions when you want to be slow and soulful and there are uptempo tunes for those bebop moments. Of course, there are a few inbetween as well. Accompaniment by bass, drums and the occasional piano and guitar.

Comments:

Here's a fairly straight jazzy tune with no difficult chord changes nor any starnge modulations. Just a piece of happy jazz. No funny story behind this one. Wanted to play a bit of jazz and couldn't find a BT I liked so I wrote this tune.

Comments:

This tune resides somewhere between a bossa and smooth jazz. It's the sort of thing I like to play over every once in while. The tempo makes it easy to play slower melodic lines or just blow away those longer scalar licks. Why not a combination of both? In case you wonder about the title, it's got nothing to do with pitch. I decided to go with flat wound strings on my jazz box so now I've "gone flat".

Here is a faster latin type tune in a sort of samba style. I got the inspiration from walking a very nice summer day and as I had my summer vacation I took the time to write and record it.

This is a tune I wrote in the end of May 2009 to celebrate me and my wife's 20th wedding anniversary. Something light, airy and a bit romantic.

As I wanted a more old style sound in my archtop I put on flatwound strings. The resulting sound inspired this tune.

A slow jazz ballad. In my humble opinion, the most beautiful tune I have written so far. If you want to get into archtop playing this is the way.

Comments:

A backing track consisting of a walking double bass and brushed drums playing a 12-bar blues progression is always good to have at hand. Then you can practice all those wonderful chord voicings and substitutions without the piano getting in the way.

During a rehersal with a big band I came up with the melody for this fast boppy tune. I remembered it when I got home and I put to tape (sequencer) before I forgot it. There is a fast walking bass line that really drives the tune foreward. It's dedicated to Tommy Wiklund, one of the greatest alto sax players in Sweden and one of the greatest musicians I have ever had the pleasure to play with.

A little latin jazz anyone? Bossa style quartet jazz. I love this style and never get tired of playing it.
